DNA and Collective Memory

abstract:
The Traditional Art of Memory was
the Hermetic (magical, Alchemical) preparation of
the current unfolding of Artificial Memory, Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This 'Art' has been updated at the beginning of the 20th Century,
when Freud named it Psychoanalysis.

Psychoanalysis began as an intuition.  It has been the practical preamble for Artificial Intelligence on Earth, and the intuition of Genetics and Ecology.
By the end of the 20th Century, this view is (still) eccentric, but it can be reasonably supported. Especially, the combination between Genetics and Ecology can be shown with the distinction between their two founding stones : Code as seen in Genetics, and Signification as seen in interactivity (Ecology).

What does a Code do? A ciper, aka a code, represents something for another thing.



(fig. 01) For instance an encryption represents a B for a C.
In Classical Genetics, a gene represents a molecule for another molecule. This principle may be applied to the fabric of secret messages; it is at the foundation of life's diversity and immunology. It differs from the Significand.
What does a Significand do? A Significand (aka signifier) represents something for another Significand.

(fig. 02) This picture shows how the Significands (written Sa) associate to forming the Desire (written with the greek letter delta, ).

At a second degree, Significands weave together, and organize the Desire. This fabric is sometimes interpreted as a collective desire - aka Collective Unconscious. According to this view, it leads a collectivity (a dynamic group, a crew) towards an Ideal goal.

REPRESENTATION OF A VIRTUAL CREW

they manifest as a whole collection of Wills.
At that moment, a 'collective desire' (black ) indicates a goal,
superimposing a Structure (S) upon the will.

This short synopsis indicates the ideology which
results from the notion of a Collective Uncounscious.;
in this case the Archetype become the sole reality.

A REAL CREW ADDS ITS NATURAL SUBSTRATUM (fig.04; 'C')

In the Real situation, where the Unconscious takes part, each Significand is anchored and points out towards something that it represents (for another Significand, so that theses things may be ordered - as for a code for example). This world view adds a factor to the ideal yet virtual situation.

Once the Significands relies on 'things', the 'collective desire' does not constitute the sole reference,
and thus differs from the Self (it can be called A, for Alter, as an Alter Ego, an Other Desire).

THEN, IN THIS PROCESS OF FADING DESIRE,
THE SIGNIFICANDS PASS FROM RELIGION TO SCIENCE

The process is what introduces a serial order in the code elements which stand for Reality.
In return, when such a seriation is applied on the code, it is reverberated upon the Significand.
But if this new order does not retreive the Structure which held the desire within;
a characterized state of chaos results.
This is known as the destructiveness of a Science without Consciousness.

(fig. 05) This picture shows a collectivity which underwent a primary seriation (fig.05, linear C);
without re-inforcement of the initial Structure, it simply rebounds in a set of disconnected Significands.
The result is a loss of the historical cause of the living desire

The template of the original Structure of the Significands, known as the Will of its representants,
allows the seriation to be secured as a functional episode in the history of the Structure.
This re-application of the Name/will ("Images at Places") is known as Art of Memory

(fig. 06) This picture shows the maintenance of the Structure after its auto-engineering -
as for example, counterbalancing the effects of a genetic engineering in a population.
If the Will of each participant is not preserved and signified, the history (and thus the goal) of the enterprise dissipates;
but when the seriation (engineering) is controlled (application of the Wills), the Structure maintains its perspective.
Example : The case would be the distribution of a set of clones according to its original template (Will),
versus its re-introduction at random within any ecological niche (fig. 05).

HOWEVER, THIS PROCESS DOES NOT OCCUR WITHOUT ANOTHER FACTOR

This re-inforcement of the Significand during the Modern Age,
is not done by the sole 'human' way, as with the traditional Simonidian means.
In the Modern stage, the seriation is processed with digitization;
it is another effect of science which implements an Artificial Intelligence for the Collective 'Desire'..

If the reader stays at this fork, it is assumed that he has enough knowledge of the ancient tradition of the Art of Memory, which describes since Antiquity a model of controled evolution (re: Simonides intervention through transformation), and of its contemporary model  - PLAN- which integrates the factual ability for engineering the field of Code (i.e. Cybernetics; e.g. Genetics and possibly Social Code soon, with Artificial Intelligence).
This reader has therefore an understanding that, at this point in Civilization, he may realize the achievement of his desire in an ecosystem (the superimpositin of the Will upon ones DNA). This has been a philosophical, religious, and finally existential project, which is completed in our present time.
The stage of practical measures is reached, in order to achieve the participation of memory in the technical reset of the future  . One of them is the system which offers the best guaranty a maintenance of the Will. In the range of PLAN's application, CYBEK suggests its DNA GROUPS.

A PRESENTATION OF DNA GROUPS, IN THE LIGHT OF THE ABOVE MODELS : A dramatic example is given with a collectivity acquiring the possibility to observe and engineer its DNA. It can be called a crew, or a team, with a structure aiming towards a goal. This goal may be either this very ability for Genetic Engineering, and in this case the goal being reached the team is to dissolve - or this goal may be something else, such as simple survival. In this second case, the dscovery of Genetic Engineering is just an episode and the story of the crew must continue. Yet it is an hazardous situation for, as depicted in the above models, with any primary imposition of an order - seriation- within a code, the Significands of the original organization may be restored , but their relations are broken. The result is chaos - exactly as described in Simonides report before his 'discovery' of the Art of Memory  . A reassignment of the Significand to the Will they once manifested, is strictly requested for sustaining the founding structure. An extreme 'Science Fiction' example with clones may help to see what happens practically at the simple level of our genetic engineering - a crew of clones would not be able to pusue the goal of its former generation, not even to adapt to the historical situation that its predecessors had assumed, and prepeared for them, unless the identity, the Will of the former members would be reattributed to the new breed. This example of permanent (clones) crew members whose Will would be inexistent or inconstant, can be generalized to less sophisticated engineerings. As soon as a gene is re-used from a conscious being within its own ecological system - since the Will of this being has been written with his genes, a maintenance of the History of the overall structure requests what is usually known as the Written Will of its initial agent, for keeping constant the collective goal. This is what Psychology - Linguistics and Psychoanalysis, bring to the awareness of our present technology. Two extreme forms of writing (genes in biology  and letters in sociology  ) combine for handling an industry of Code which began with the so-called Evolution. This is the Cultural Law that DNA groups endorses. They intend to contravene the dull order of the first approach of genetics, when the regime of anonymity in genes engineering ignored the very soul of an existence that is a genome.
